Cross-platform medical tools reducing patient friction.
Designing a HIPAA-compliant healthcare application that simplifies patient intake and coordinates doctor checkups.
Project Overview
MedLink Care provides telemedicine coordination tools for remote clinics. Doctors needed a secure, HIPAA-compliant mobile application that aggregates patient vitals, coordinates video consultations, and records consultation reports. The system required absolute visual consistency and high reliability across iOS, Android, and web tablets.
The Challenge
Developing separate native applications for iOS and Android was stalling their feature release cycle and exhausting their budget. The existing patient intake layout was long and confusing, causing patients to drop out during the onboarding step. Additionally, poor offline support meant doctors in remote clinics lost data during connection drops.
Key Objectives
Develop a single-source Flutter application, connect Firebase auth modules, and design a simplified UI layout.
Strategy & Process
We wireframed critical user flows, implemented secure data tokens, and coded the mobile app using Dart/Flutter.
Implementation & Artifacts
Built a local data caching database to support offline functionality inside remote clinic zones with real-time biometric synchronization.
Key Takeaways
Flutter enables development of secure, medical-grade mobile applications while reducing codebase maintenance overheads by half.
